I’m Gabe Vandevere, a senior studying Computer Science at the University of Delaware, living in Wayne, Pennsylvania, just outside Philadelphia. Concurrently, I work part-time at The RxAssistant, building and testing conversational-AI products for pharmaceutical clients. Before that I did R&D at Westpepper Capital: backtesting pipelines, real-time crypto market data on AWS, and a trading strategy that made it to production. I'm highly interested in the future of AI and its application to streamlining everyday flows.

  1. The RxAssistant

    AI Product QA / Operations Consultant

    • Authored 69,000+ surviving lines — 50.5% of a 137,000-line production codebase — across 200+ commits to an internal React and TypeScript platform, covering safety review, automated MLR submission documents and live multi-brand configuration, and supporting the migration off the old codebase.
    • Led demo development and enterprise demonstrations of an AI field-intelligence platform for field reimbursement teams: approved-document search, patient-data lookup, ambient visit analysis and AI role-play training.
    • Delivered 10+ client-facing AI prototypes and demos across 10+ pharmaceutical brands, working from requirements through technical implementation to staging and release.
    • Authored and executed 100+ UAT and adversarial test cases for regulated conversational AI: adverse-event and product-complaint detection, emergency routing, off-label and hallucination boundaries, PII handling and multilingual input.

  2. Westpepper Capital

    Jun–Aug 2025 · Dec 2025–Feb 2026Radnor, PA

    Quantitative R&D Intern

    • Built an end-to-end machine-learning and backtesting pipeline over earnings, guidance and analyst-estimate data from REST APIs; trained and evaluated 15 model variants, reaching 57% next-day direction accuracy in historical tests.
    • Deployed Java services on AWS EC2 capturing real-time Kraken order books and maintaining history across 200+ cryptocurrency markets.
    • Developed and backtested proprietary trading strategies in Java, C++, Excel and VBA — arbitrage, high-frequency, price-taking and market-making; one build advanced to production after sustained performance.
    • Built a Python analytics pipeline and dashboard used daily, automating email ingestion, P&L and volume aggregation, Excel exports and Matplotlib reporting.

Savor

Receipt-scanning pantry tracker that surfaces food before it expires.

Next.js and TypeScript on Supabase, with Google Gemini’s vision model handling receipt OCR. Scanned items become a typed inventory with expiry dates; recipes are ranked by what is closest to expiring, and the app tracks cumulative waste avoided in dollars and CO₂. Built by a team of four over one weekend at HenHacks 2026 and deployed on DigitalOcean.

Dog gait analysis

Detects cranial cruciate ligament injury from video of a dog walking.

Two stages: a pose cascade tracks 39 body keypoints and 46 facial landmarks per frame, cutting mean normalised landmark error 28.6% against the previous single-model approach (PCK@5% 71.0% to 84.1%, 479 held-out images). Those joint trajectories become gait features for a random-forest classifier trained on 12 GB of clinical video. Output is a CCL probability and a pose-overlaid render of the input for review.

Oracle

Minecraft server on a Raspberry Pi with an autonomous chat agent.

Paper server on a Raspberry Pi 4B, exposed over an outbound tunnel rather than port forwarding and managed by systemd so the world saves before a restart. Oracle is a Java plugin that reads all public chat with no command prefix: an interest scorer rates every message 0–100, and it replies only when the score clears a threshold and a cooldown has elapsed. The inference provider — Claude, Gemini, or llama.cpp on the Jetson — is switchable at runtime.
